Hunting and Fishing
There's a reason Manning is
known as "Land of the Mighty Moose,” and the Valleyview area is called
"Big Game Country." The names Lac La Biche (the Lake of the Deer) and
Elk Point were also no mistake.
Northern Alberta is abundant with moose, elk, deer, and black bear. Our wildlife enjoys the rich ecosystem of the Boreal Forest, which spreads across Canada all the way to Newfoundland.
With numerous nesting grounds for the Canada Goose, it is no surprise that Northern Alberta's first class hunting opportunities are sought after by enthusiasts from around the globe.
Our rivers and lakes are as abundant as our land. High Prairie, home of the Walleye Classic, is host to North America's largest fishing tournament. Fort McMurray, known as the "Land of Adventure" is famous for its fly-in adventure lodges that attract novice and expert alike.
