Population Diversity
Northern Alberta is made up of 150 communities, including 3 cities, 24 towns, 24 First Nations communities, 8 Métis settlements, and a multitude of hamlets and summer villages.  

The total population of the area is approximately 350,000 people, many of whom live in long-established rural communities or quickly expanding urban centres.  These people represent cultures from all corners of the earth, including Aboriginal and Metis peoples, and people of British, German, Ukrainian, French, Scandinavian, Dutch, Russian, African, Asian and South American descent.
