Forestry
Northern Alberta is home
to most of Alberta's forests – over 34 million hectares. The forestry
industry is made up of softwood and hardwood logging companies, sawmills, pulp
and paper mills, lumberyards and value-added manufacturers. Our exports range from lumber to strandboard,
fiberboard, pulp, and engineered building products.
Employment opportunities include harvest specialists, environmental technicians, loggers and heavy machinery mechanics. High demand jobs include foresters and logging supervisors.
